As I develop my first Police and Crime Plan I want to make sure that it reflects the issues that local people say are important to them. It needs to meet their policing needs and expectations.

That's why I'm asking for your help.

You may have heard about my new online public survey which has now 'gone-live'.

The responses to this (and an associated telephone survey) will provide me with a wealth of information to help me shape my plans to deliver a truly public-focused police service. More »

The survey gets to the heart of policing issues, asking for your opinion on a range of areas including police visibility, the areas of community safety you would like prioritised by the force and how you would prefer to contact the police.

I was elected to serve the people of Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland and to raise your views at the highest level. I'm determined to reach as many people as possible through this survey so that I can work with the force and our partners to set the right objectives in the years ahead.

The resulting strategies will guide the way we protect our communities over the next four years.

The survey can be found at https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/B78HPFL and will close on 30 September 2016.

I would be immensely grateful if you could forward this email on to your colleagues, family and friends.

Many thanks for your support.

In the National Forest and beyond

The overwhelmingly popular Free Tree Scheme is back again and you can help to continue the success of the scheme by supporting it this year. The scheme has already seen thousands of trees planted across the district and the District Council is once again teaming up with The National Forest Company to make our district even greener.

There are four trees to choose from: Holly; Dogwood; Field Maple; Elder and again this year we have the Hedge Fund with residents able to order up to 30 metres of hedging. More »

You can order online at: www.nwleics.gov.uk/freetreescheme2016

Trees will be available for collection on Sunday 20 November. Place your order now to receive your free trees. The deadline for submission is Monday 24 October. » Less
